Dr. Christopher Dietzel

Director of the DATE.AI Project and Affiliate Assistant Professor, Concorida University

Christopher Dietzel (he/him) leads the DATE.AI Project. His work broadly explores the benefits, risks, and possibilities associated with everyday digital platforms like dating apps. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Ottawa, and he conducts research with DIY: Digital Safety, the Centre for Feminist Research, the Digital Intimacy, Gender, and Sexualities (DIGS) Lab, the Sexual Health and Gender (SHaG) Lab, and the iMPACTS Project.

Nohémie Bokuma

Research Assistant, the DATE.AI Project

Nohémie Bokuma (she/her) is a master’s student in Political Science at Concordia University. Her research interests focus on AI governance, online radicalization, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence. For her master's thesis, she uses Martha Fineman’s scholarship on vulnerability to compare Canadian and Australian policies on digital safety.

Sabrina Ward-Kimola

Research Assistant, the DATE.AI Project

Sabrina Ward-Kimola (she/her) is a PhD Candidate at Concordia University. She is an interdisciplinary scholar working across disability studies, media studies, and science and technology technology studies. Her dissertation engages in a media history of Vancouver's Deaf and Hard of Hearing telecommunication infrastructure through the lens of media appropriation and advocacy. She is a research assistant at the Digital Intimacy, Gender and Sexuality (DIGS) Lab and co-coordinates the Access-In-the-Making (AIM) Lab.

Dr. Stefanie Duguay

Associate Professor, Concordia University

Stefanie Duguay (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University. She is Director of the Digital Intimacy, Gender and Sexuality (DIGS) Lab, and held a Concordia University Research Chair under the same title from 2021–2026. Her research focuses on the influence of digital media technologies in everyday life, with particular attention to the intersection of sexual identity, gender, and social media.

Dr. David Myles

Assistant Professor, INRS

David Myles (he/him) is an Associate Professor at the Centre Urbanisation Culture Société at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). His research investigates the cultural, social, and economic implications of digital technologies. He examines the role of online platforms in mediating popular and participatory cultures, with a specific interest in LGBTQ+ cultures.

Dr. Skyler Wang

Assistant Professor, McGill University

Skyler Wang (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at McGill University, Director of the Social-Centered AI (SCAI) Lab, and a Research Scientist at Handshake AI. His research examines sociotechnical and AI systems, focusing on how platforms shape modern intimacies and relationships, and how expert-driven data production shapes machine learning and knowledge work.
